While we are a non-profit organization ourselves, as Realtors® we believe we support the community around us. During our interactions with the amazing people in the Lowcountry, we get to see direct ways we can impact our area for positive change and growth.

Lowcountry Scholarships

Our scholarship program is designed to assist high school students in Beaufort County and Jasper County, SC, who are passionate about becoming leaders in their fields. We believe in nurturing young talent and helping them achieve their academic and professional goals.

We give out 2 annual scholarships to support students who exhibit strong leadership qualities and are poised to make a positive impace in their future academic endeavors.

Applications begin April every year.

Meet Our 2024 Scholarship Recipients

Noah Wasserman

Lipscomb University

We are thrilled to announce Noah Wasserman, a recent graduate from May River High School, as one of our esteemed scholarship recipients! Noah is set to continue his academic journey at Lipscomb University in TN, supported by a $1,000 scholarship from our local council.

​

Noah has exemplified exceptional leadership both in the classroom and on the track. "Noah has not only been a strong leader, he has also been the backbone of our team in competition and in academics, always ranking in our top 2-3 athletes with his GPA," praises Coach Holland, May River High School's Track Coach. His teacher adds, "Noah is one of my favorite students. He is focused, driven, trustworthy, and motivational."

Xavier University

We are thrilled to celebrate Parker Hill, our second $1,000 scholarship winner from Hilton Head High School. As Parker prepares to attend Xavier University in Ohio, we reflect on her remarkable high school journey filled with academic excellence and committed volunteerism.

Parker has dedicated over 100 hours to community service, including tutoring elementary students, which speaks volumes about her desire to uplift and educate. Beyond her volunteer work, Parker has excelled academically, maintaining an impressive GPA and actively participating in five different honor societies. Her leadership roles in these societies demonstrate her ability to lead by example and inspire her peers.

We aim to support and promote women leaders like Parker, who are paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future. Congratulations, Parker! We are proud to support your journey and can’t wait to see all that you accomplish.

FAQs About the Women's Council of Realtors® Scholarships

How many scholarships do you give out?

We give out two (2) scholarships award annually.

How much is the scholarship amount?

The amount awarded is based on available funding and will be paid directly to the recipient's college, university, or higher education institution.

​

What are the deadlines?

Application Release date: April of every year

Application Deadline: 4th Friday of May every year

Award Distribution: August of the award year

What are the eligibility requirements to apply for a scholarship?

Applicants must:

  • Be a high school senior attending school in Beaufort or Jasper County

  • Have a demonstrated record of leadership in their school, community, or other extracurricular activities

  • Plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program at either a 2 year or 4 year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the upcoming academic year

  • Not be immediate family member of any member of the Women's Council of Realtors Lowcountry executive board or the scholarship selection committee

What is the application process?

  • Complete the application form once it is available (April each year)

  • Submit 1 letter of reference from a teacher, counselor, employer or community leader who can speak to the applicant's leadership qualities and potential using the official Letter of Reference Form, once it is available (April each year)

  • Write and submit a letter in 1st person detailing your leadership experiences, qualities, and why you believe you are a strong candidate for this scholarship. The letter should provide specific examples of your leadership in action
